Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

FEATURES
- Simple, minimalistic design: everything you need, nothing you don’t.

- Large font makes it easier to read when you’re on the run

- Home screen displays current temperature in Celsius

- Includes minimum and maximum precipitation levels

- 7-day weather forecast

- Location services: can access the user’s location to retrieve local weather

- Input any city to access global weather forecasts

- Plus, Weather Aid turns your phone into a safety device. If you think your life is in danger – particularly if you are exposed to domestic violence – simply input ‘1111’ as your search city and Weather Aid will reveal its true identity to you.

- Whenever you say your chosen ‘panic phrase, Weather Aid will send a text (including your location) to a predetermined contact. Just follow the prompts to program the app to react.

- To ensure Weather Aid is always listening out for your ‘panic phrase’, make sure you always have the app running in the background. Because your safety is our main concern, we have included a handy, red wallpaper within the app, which means the red, flashing bar that indicates the app is ‘running’ is hidden from view.

- If you, or someone you know is a victim of domestic and family violence, please get in touch with the lovely, helpful and understanding people at 1800 RESPECT. They are there to talks things over or answer any questions 24/7. They will teach you coping strategies, connect you with services and support and help you make a safety plan when you’re ready to leave. Until then, if you are in immediate danger, please call 000.

- Domestic and family violence is a national epidemic. In fact, 1 in 3 Australian women are affected by domestic and family violence and it’s very likely to be someone close to you – maybe even someone you never expected. So do every woman in Australia a favour. Tell them about this app. Tell them to pass it on to every woman they know. Tell them not to tell a single man about it. Tell them it’s our little secret.
